Some of My Favorite Things
There are some small, seemingly ridiculous things that have the ability to make me nearly deliriously happy. Here are some of them: 1. Taking a grapefruit, peeling off the outer peel, pulling off all the white stuff, and then peeling each slice out of it’s little weird plastic-y sort of shell down to just the pink network of little fruit nubbins before I eat it. 2. Going into a public bathroom, and picking the stall that has yet to be peed in for the day. So clean, the water in the bowl is still blue. 3. Watching my cat chase a bug. 4. The way bubbles run off my legs when I’m taking a bath. 5. Wearing new shoes, new panties, new earrings and nothing else. 6. Not having anything better to do than watch the sun set. 7. Cooking something new that turns out far better than I had imagined. 8. The way my fingers feel after I have been throwing clay for several hours. 9. When someone standing in line near me in the grocery store smells really good. 10. Buying flowers….
